That's exactly it - but designers who advocate for skipping research and lo-fi are hitching their car to the Fastest Gun train (we are deep into mixing metaphors here). It is appealing in the short term but completely erodes any chance of success. To have ideas that are separate from the Fastest Gun's ideas, they need to be able to actually run the design playbook, since those ideas need to come from somewhere.
